Elvis VA, Nadine Capellmann’s 2008 Olympic, 2006 World Games Team Gold Medal Mount for Germany, Dies at Age 25

Elvia VA, the 2008 Olympic and 2006 World Equestrian Games team gold medal mount for Germany’s Nadine Capellmann, has died at the age of 25.

The Hanoverian gelding, Nadine reported, was found dead in his stall “completely unexpectedly” after feeding Friday night.

Elvis (Espri x Garibaldi II) was bred by Christian Pfeil and found at the Verden auction to be trained by German Olympic champion Martin Schaudt.

Nadine began competing Elvis in 2004 and won the Nürnberger Burg-Pokal, the world famous German championships for Small Tour horses aged seven to nine years, with a then record score of 81.170%. The partnership began Big Tour a year later and in 2006 were on the gold medal team at the World Games in Aachen.
