Horse sale record broken in Tamworth as filly Yaven Champagne Romance fetches $260k

A filly from Adelong in southern New South Wales has turned heads at one of Australia's largest performance horse auctions.

Two-year-old Yaven Champagne Romance sold for a record of $260,000 at Tamworth's Nutrien Classic today.

The chestnut filly, owned by John and Jenn Corbett and trained by Hugh Miles, was tipped to attract plenty of interest long before she entered the ring.

The Corbett family also held the previous sale record of $230,000 for filly Yaven Smooth Spin.

Yaven Champagne Romance will now make her way to Queensland with new owners the Knudsen family.
