Horses killed in Hume Highway horror crash

Four horses, including three owned by Sheikh Hamdan's Shadwell Stud, were killed after leaving the Hayes-Hayes-Dabernig training complex at Euroa when a truck they were travelling in rolled over on Monday night as it tried to enter the Hume Highway.

Trainer Tom Dabernig said that the accident and subsequent carnage was "certainly one of the most disturbing things to have happened" in his career after he and several Lindsay Park vets and staff rushed to the scene of the accident after the horse transport driver had alerted stable foreman Darren Bell.
