Jessica von Bredow-Werndl & Dalera Break Isabell Werth’s 2-Year Grip of Top Two World Ranked Combinations

Jessica von Bredow-Werndl on TSF Dalera BB has broken Isabell Werth’s two-year grip on the top two world ranking places, overtaking Weihegold OLD to stand second to Bella Rose less than three weeks to the Olympics.

Jessica and the 14-year-old Trakehner mare, moved to No. 2 in the world, the highest ever ranking for the 35-year-old rider, with a string of top three finishes since the European Championships in 2019.

She remains behind Isabell on Bella Rose at the top of the standings, that have seen relatively minor changes since early in 2020 when the coronavirus pandemic led to the rankings including results from early 2019 instead of rolling over after 12 months.

Isabell and Bella Rose have been No. 1 since July 2019, with Weihegold No. 2. From April to the end of June 2019, Weihegold had been on top with Bella Rose second.

America’s Laura Graves on Verdades had been the last successful challenger to Isabell’s claim on the top spots when the American partnership was world No. 1 in September and October 2018 and second ranked for the next five months. Verdades is retired.
