'Long road back': Juana Andreou's husband Jesse provides update on her condition

Victorian jockey Juana Andreou remains in a critical but stable condition in the very same intensive care unit her husband Jesse found himself in just 12 months ago.

In a cruel twist of fate, Andreou is now fighting for her own life after nursing Jesse back from the brink following bowel surgery complications.

Andreou was rushed to the Royal Melbourne Hospital last Monday after being kicked in the head by a horse at Flemington.

The incident occurred while clipping a galloper.

“She had moved away a bit from riding but was still keen to take rides if they popped up," her husband Jesse told Punters.
