Payne fined $1000 by Racing Victoria for calling owner 'a pig'

Racing Victoria stewards have fined Melbourne Cup-winning jockey Michelle Payne $1000 for labelling owner Brae Sokolski "a pig" in a post on Twitter after Linda Meech was replaced by Mark Zahra on Victoria Derby contender Thought Of That.

Payne pleaded guilty to a charge of making an offensive post about Sokolski when she said on Tuesday it's "not for the public to decide but the public can recognise you as a pig".
