Rose Oatley & Daddy Moon Set Another World Record in Capturing European Pony Championships Freestyle Gold

STRZEGEM, Poland, Aug. 15, 2021–Rose Oatley and Daddy Moon set another world record with victory Sunday in the European Pony Championship freestyle on a score three-tenths of a point from 90% and three days after the German partnership posted a record in the team competition.

Rose and Daddy Moon (FS Daddy Cool x Capri Moon), an 11-year-old Rhinelander gelding, were awarded 89.700% in the freestyle, shattering the record of 85.825% set by Great Britain’s Phoebe Peters on SL Lucci at the 2015 European Championships. The previous best result for a musical performance by Rose and Daddy Moon was 81.400% in placing third at the 2020 Europeans.

Three of the five judges awarded the 14-year-old rider and Daddy Moon scores of at least 90%, two of 92%, with the lowest 86.375% that itself was above the previous record.

Rose, No. 1 pony rider in the world for the past 18 months, posted a team record result of 82.629% to lead Germany to their 35th European pony team gold Thursday. She is the daughter of four-time Olympian Kristy Oatley who rides for Australia but lives in Germany.
