Six Countries from Four Continents Enter Teams for Wellington’s CDIO3* Nations Cup

WELLINGTON, Florida, Feb. 15, 2023–Six countries from four continents have entered teams for the Global Dressage Festival CDIO3* Nations Cup next week to kick off the 2023 trans Atlantic series of seven events.

Argentina, Australia, Canada, Germany, Sweden and the United States will compete in the event of mixed Big and Small Tour combinations Feb. 22-26. The only dressage Nations Cup in the United States was first held in Wellington in 2013. Grand Prix-level riders and horses get a 1.5% bonus, a format designed to develop dressage.

Germany with the only all-Grand Prix team is seeking to make a hattrick of victories, having won the event in 2021 and 2022. This year’s squad includes German team rider Frederic Wandres on Hot Hit OLD and includes two rookies at Big Tour Anna-Christina Abbelen on Sam Donnerhall and Felicitas Hendricks on Drombusch as well as veteran Michael Klimke on Harmony’s Sanrino RHP.
