The Melbourne Cup – the last word

Connections of a number of Melbourne Cup runners give the last word on their chances on RSN927 on raceday morning.

Anthony Van Dyck: “Aidan (O’Brien, trainer) has been very with him and TJ (Comerford, travelling foreman) is very happy with him. He obviously ran very well the other day, so you’d have to say that he’s on top form,” Coolmore’s Tom Magnier.

Sir Dragonet: “Winsky (James Winks) took him to the beach this morning – he’s been to the beach when possible since the Cox Plate – and everything’s gone very smoothly since the Cox Plate. I hadn’t seen him for seven days since the Cox Plate, then went to the beach with Ciaron on Sunday with Etah James and he really had improved in his whole demeanor,” co-trainer David Eustace.
