The World Individual Gold Medallist at the HUBSIDE Fall Tour De Grimaud this weekend for the first time

She was the only rider among all the current individual gold medallists who hadn’t competed at the HUBSIDE JUMPING’s facilities in Grimaud. Among the riders competing, on Wednesday the Haras des Grillons’ big ring on the French Riviera will be playing host to Germany’s Simone Blum, whose last performance in France dates back to May 2019! Open to everyone, free of charge.
It is mandatory to wear a face mask.

She is rarely seen at shows. Since she won her World individual gold medal, exactly two years ago, on 23 September 2018, Germany’s Simone Blum has taken part in less than twenty-five international competitions. The individual gold medallist had never come to the HUBSIDE JUMPING de Grimaud before now. She was the only one among the current individual gold medallists: Nick Skelton, the Olympic individual gold medallist was spotted on the edge of the ring this summer, alongside his partner who was competing, while the European individual gold medallist and the current winner of the Longines FEI World Cup Final, Switzerland’s Martin Fuchs and Steve Guerdat, are regulars at the show. The lady rider with DSP Cool Hill is undoubtedly the guest star of this ninth HUBSIDE JUMPING event and the fourth CSI 5* show organised here. Despite this, she will face some tough competition, as this week once again, there are an exceptional number of big names who are determined to fight it out. Let’s already mention her fellow countrymen, German riders who dream of a victory here in Grimaud, but who have been unsuccessful in the 5* Grands Prix for the moment: Christian Ahlmann, Daniel Deusser and Marcus Ehning, who have won in the most beautiful rings in the world... but not in Grimaud for the moment!

The World top 5 are present this week once again, as is Ireland’s Denis Lynch, the winner of the 5* Grand Prix last Sunday. As for France, the leading riders and current Olympic team gold medallists will be present, accompanied by Julien Epaillard and Edward Levy, who are used to being centre stage at the HUBSIDE JUMPING. They will be joined by Benoit Cernin, in particular, the current French Pro Elite category title holder.

Four labels and an additional day of competition
For this ninth weekend of competition, the HUBSIDE JUMPING is boasting an additional label with a CSI 1, a CSI 2, a CSI 3* and a CSI 5* on the schedule. With more than 320 horses present onsite, an additional day of competition has been created to allow everyone to compete. The champions will be performing in the Var ring from Wednesday at the beginning of the afternoon.

This week the French course designer Cédric Longis will oversee the track of the courses. Four levels of competition will be on offer boasting prize money totalling almost 620,000 euros, of which 200,000 euros will be for the CSI 5* Grand Prix and 60 000 euros for the CSI3* Grand Prix.
