Two apprentice jockeys stood down for possible COVID-19 breach

Two leading apprentices have been stood down by Racing Victoria over a potential breach of the rules around coronavirus restrictions.

Racing Victoria on Tuesday said that stewards have opened an inquiry into the conduct of last season's champion younger rider Michael Poy and successful claimer Teo Nugent, along with a stablehand registered to trainer Robert Hickmott, after receiving information of possible breaches of COVID-19 protocols. They did not specify what those breaches may have been.
