Warramboo rider wins SA State Showjumping Monolita Junior Grand Prix

Warramboo rider, Regan O'Brien won the SA State Showjumping Monolita Junior Grand Prix.

Riding her mare, Billara Woodbine, O'Brien was the only combination to have no faults over the 115-120cm course.

The event named after Monolita, a junior show jump Galloway who was bred and completed successfully on Eyre Peninsula with Michael Harris before being sold on to John and Rae Brice for their daughter Michelle.

O'Brien was successful on the last day in the State Junior Championship winning the event with a beautiful clear round after incurring a rail down in the first.

O'Brien was joined by Port Lincoln's Brooke Spencer at Wirrina Cove for the titles, the first state event for both young riders who placed on each of the three days of competition.

On Friday in a large open 105cm One Round Stakes field of 23 competitors, O'Brien placed fourth and Spencer fifth.

Spencer also had a successful state titles with her mount Lunar Rhythm, winning the 110cm and 104cm and gaining another fourth in the 115cm.

The Eyre Peninsula Showjumping Club is extremely proud of their members.
