The 2021 2Construct Victorian Youth Championships have concluded after four fantastic days of competition and collaboration. Despite cool conditions 220 competitors descended on the Boneo Park Equestrian Centre for this State Championship competition for dressage riders under 25 years of age. Whilst the ongoing covid border restrictions halted the plans of many interstate competitors the competition amongst the Victorians was fierce with many personal best scores.

In the FEI Classes the Marcus Oldham College Small Tour Champion was Louisa Smith and HP Fresco and they were also the recipients of the stunning Deb Hamid and Kevin J Hitchins donated award.
Bella Plumridge and Illawong Harvest Moon dominated the Stable Ground FEI Pony classes, becoming the eventual Champion after three impressive wins.
Caitlyn Porter had a fantastic few days on her new ride “Der Beste” taking out the overall Apsley Equestrian Junior Championship.
Jessica Dertell capped off a very busy week taking out the Riddells Creek Dressage FEI Young Rider Champion aboard Eskara De Jeu and the Victorian Dressage Young Rider Squad and Development most successful combination award.
Lindsey Ware and her stunning Aristede were convincing winners across all three ‘big tour’ classes, taking out the overall 2 Construct FEI Championship. We look forward to seeing Lindsey step up into the open Grand Prix classes at Boneo Park’s Summer Dressage Championships next week.

The pony classes were very well supported in all levels. Taking out the Hi Form Pony Preliminary Championship was Annie Creed and Brookside Shazam whilst The Dancing Horse Pony Novice Champions were Grace Riddell and Knock Out O. The Lauriston Park Pony Elementary Champions were Isla Evans and Dracmoore Firestorm.
The new combination of Jazi French and Urodel Du Texier had a very successful weekend taking out the Marcus Oldham College Preliminary Championship, Senior Interschool Novice Championship and the Taylor Farley Award for the highest placed Junior in the Novice Championship.

The Equine Sports Massage Novice Champion was Alicia Ryan and her young Merricks Sonique, whilst the Riddells Creek Dressage Elementary Champion was Charlotte Richardson and Brierley Scarlett.
The popular Leader Equine Medium Championship for both ponies and horses went to Amy Bachmann and SWS Debutante.
The Ellanbrae Park Advanced Champion went to local rider Jasmine Abernethy and Rebel M.

The Toorak College Interschool Competitions were very well supported with competitors from across the state in attendance. The
Primary Preliminary Champion Morgan Cockerall and Monteith Brunton whilst the Intermediate Preliminary Champion was Olivia Jackson and Woodleigh Rockstar. In the Novice classes the champions were once again Megan Cockerall and Monteith Brunton in the primary division and Tayla Anderson and Rimondi D in the Intermediate.
In the participation classes it was Brooke Wheeler and Bloomfield Valtini the Honan Insurance Group Preliminary Champions and Samantha D’Alia and Pencil Park Felix the Interpath Novice Champions.

The winner of the Briana Judge Memorial for the highest placed EA and PCAV member went to Ebony Linford and Royal Vitali.

The Macedon Ranges Dressage Club kindly donated the Encouragement Award for the competitor with the highest percentage in an official competition who did not place went to Shaylyn McNeill and Phorce Fields Sancerre.

A highlight of the event was the collaboration between some of Victoria’s elite dressage riders and our youth riders, and it was fantastic to have Olympians Lone Joergensen and Mary Hanna as well as Gitte Donvig on hand to assist with presentations and also to share their wealth of knowledge with this next generation of riders.

Boneo Park would like to thank the huge team of judges, officials and volunteers who worked tirelessly to put the event together as well as Equestrian Victoria, Dressage Victoria and all event sponsors for their support.
