A man accused of punching a horse during Sydney’s anti-lockdown protests has pleaded not guilty, formally denying he was responsible for the alleged act of animal cruelty which sparked widespread outrage.
Kristian Pulkownik was charged after photographs from the so-called “Rally For Freedom” in Sydney’s CBD in July allegedly captured him punching a police horse as an estimated 3500 protesters clashed with police.
The court has previously heard that Mr Pulkownik argues he was acting in “self defence” and was not the aggressor in the incident.
