Racehorse owner in debt leaving 'a trail of destruction'

The racehorse owner allegedly threatened by Jarrod McLean over more than $10,000 in unpaid training fees has left "a trail of destruction" across the racing industry.

The owner, who The Age has chosen not to name, has been working with Racing Victoria's senior adviser for mediation and disputes Frank De Rango to settle a number debts across the racing industry.

Creditors have told The Age the owner has taken horses from breakers without paying breaking-in and veterinary bills, left agistment farms and transport companies out of pocket and shifted horses from trainers while failing to settle outstanding debts.
