Tinney leads world-class equestrian field at Canberra horse trials

Olympic gold medallist Stuart Tinney is part of a world-class field contesting the Canberra horse trials this weekend.

More than 300 interstate and local horses and riders will take on Canberra's world-class cross-country track at Equestrian Park on Sunday, having first tackled equestrian and show jumping on Saturday.

Oceania longlist rider Hannah Klep will test herself against Tinney, who won gold at the Sydney Olympics in 2000, after she spent her gap year in 2018 working for and training with Olympic medallist Shane Rose.

It paid off with her results caught the selectors' eye.

Tinney's presence will raise the bar across the levels as he brings a team of younger horses.
