Top Riders Set For Thrilling Competitions at "Fantastic" Tops International Arena


Top riders are anticipating a feast of show jumping competitions over the next couple of weeks at Tops International Arena. From Friday to Sunday this week, world class riders will be centre stage at the stunning venue in The Netherlands for the third event of the season. It will be a golden opportunity for all levels including CSI5, CSI2, CSI1* and Young Horse to showcase their talent on the exceptional grass surface at Tops International Arena..

With over 24 nations represented from 9 - 11 July at Valkenswaard the blockbuster weekend of top-level show jumping kick starts the series of summer events with plenty more action to come throughout the year at the prestigious facility which is one of the foremost equestrian destinations in the world.

Speaking about the top quality new grass arena Brazilian Eduardo Menezes said: "It's great to ride on grass again. When I was growing up this arena was like a myth to me. I wanted to ride here. I totally understood when the grass was replaced by sand, but now it's back to how it should be."

There will be a host of illustrious names in action this weekend including Australia's leading show jumper and the current Longines Global Champions Tour Championship leader Edwina Tops-Alexander, German maestro Marcus Ehning and Ludger Beerbaum, flying Frenchman Simon Delestre, Scott Brash, Malin Baryard-Johnsson, Evelina Tovek, Bart Bles and many more.

Local hero Maikel van der Vleuten explained after the last event at Tops International Arena: "I feel my horses are confident in this arena which says it all. It is incredible, you can hardly see horses have been jumping here after three days. Really fantastic!"

With many of the biggest names in the sport in action this weekend, all eyes will be on Sunday’s showdown in the CSI5* Grand Prix at 16.15. Tickets to watch are just €5 and can be bought onsite while all the action will be streamed live on GCTV for anyone that cannot join in person.
