Weir case set for delay

Darren Weir's court proceedings face an indefinite delay due to disruptions stemming from the COVID-19 crisis.

And it will also impact the cases against three of his associates - Jarrod McLean, Tyson Kermond and William Hernan.

Weir, McLean, Kermond and Hernan were expected to face Ballarat Magistrates Court on June 23 for a committal hearing over a number of allegations including animal cruelty and fraud conspiracy.

However, the Herald Sun has reported that lawyers for the accused and Racing Victoria have been told the matter is set to be adjourned on June 22.
