WEG: Official Horse Deals Coverage Week 2

The Saudi Arabian combination, Karmal  Bahamdan and 'Cezanne 30' jump through the 1.50m over vertical double, "The Kentucky Fence Line" that caused quite a degree of trouble over the Table C competition, the first Individual and Team Qualifier. All points accumulate through this and the Nations Cup to determine, firstly the Team Champions and then the Individual Champion.

Great Britain's Robert Smith makes a good jump over the Tobacco oxer riding the Dutch Warmblood, 'Talan' by Concorde out of a Burggraaf mare. They jumped a good clear in 77.14 seconds to be in 14th place.

Rodrigo Pessoa and 'HH Rebozo' a stallion by Tlaloc La Silla jump the second fence, The Kentucky Bourbon on their way to post a clear round in 76.85 seconds for 11th place after the first class.

First out for Australia, Chris Chugg and 'Vivant' jumped a super round except for a bit of a misunderstanding at the Farm Entrance vertical after the open water. They are pictured making easy work of the 1.52m square skinny Tobacco over at number 11. Chris is in 57th place of the 120 starters at the beginning of the jumping competition.

Course Designer, Conrad Homfeld from the US looks pleased with his Table C track, described by George Morris as "a fabulous course".

Samantha McIntosh back riding for New Zealand put in a characteristic performance, just lowering the Forest Liverpool at fence 12. riding Horst Jaggle's 'Loxley 38' by Lennon.  They sit in 42nd place after the first class, but there is plenty of room to move yet.

The surprise round of the competition, probably because we don't know all the horses here, came from the Hungarian, Sandor Szas riding 'Moosbachhofs Goldwing' , a Hanoverian stallion by Goldfever. They really galloped, which is pretty obvious from this photo and took third place in the Table C in 73.24 seconds.

Belgium's Judy Ann Melchior jumped clear riding her own Cha Cha Z a mare by Cathago Z, but in quite a sloe time, 83.52 for 53rd place.

The first ever rider for Bermuda, Patrick Nesbett makes a lovely jump aboard his 'Cantaro' by Corrado 1. They just lowered the bogy 13b and came home in a time of 80.92 for 29th place.

Successful Australian international jumping combination, Edwina Alexander and 'Cevo Itot Du Chateau' by Le Tot de Semilly made the course look easy indeed and looked a certain clear until Itot just touched the dreaded 13b. Despite the added four seconds they are in 18th place.

UK jumping legend, Michael Whitaker powers his way out of the Alltech double riding 'Gig Amai' a Belgian gelding by Nonstop. However two down has them down the line in 43rd place.

World number one, Kevin Saut from France  did not  have the best of rounds riding the Corland mare, Silvana de Hus. A time consuming stop and a fence down has them way down the line at 70.

Sadly Belgium's Jos Lansink did not put in his usual classic performance riding the Nabab de Reve mare, 'Cavalor Valentina Van't Heike' that left three on the ground.

European based Australian Team member, James Paterson-Robinson certainly looked good , but the Diamant de Semilly stallion, 'Niack de L'Abbaye' left three on the floor. It is early days yet and after the first Individual and Team qualifier, the USA are in the lead followed by Germany and France. Australia is 14th of the 27 Teams.
