WEG: Official Horse Deals Coverage Week 2

The Saudi Arabian combination, Karmal Bahamdan and 'Cezanne 30' jump through the 1.50m over vertical double, "The Kentucky Fence Line" that caused quite a degree of trouble over the Table C competition, the first Individual and Team Qualifier. All points accumulate through this and the Nations Cup to determine, firstly the Team Champions and then the Individual Champion.

Jonathon Miller, son of famous Canadian rider, Ian Miller had one down riding the Contender gelding, 'Contino 14'. After the first competition they are in 59th place' They are pictured jumping the Tobacco Oxer at number 11..

Japanese Team member, Toshiki Masui is pictured riding the Australian Warmblood , 'Keep Your Touch' in the Table C class at the beginning of a long jumping programme.

Great Britain's Robert Smith makes a good jump over the Tobacco oxer riding the Dutch Warmblood, 'Talan' by Concorde out of a Burggraaf mare. They jumped a good clear in 77.14 seconds to be in 14th place.

Rodrigo Pessoa and 'HH Rebozo' a stallion by Tlaloc La Silla jump the second fence, The Kentucky Bourbon on their way to post a clear round in 76.85 seconds for 11th place after the first class.

Sweden's Malin Baryard Johnsson had two down riding 'H & M Actrice W' by Ars Vivendi. They are pictured over the Kentucky Fence Line.

New Zealand Team member, Maurice Beatson is pictured riding Trudi Biggar and Sally Clark's Voltaire gelding, 'Apollo van Evendael' in the Table C competition, the first of the WE jumping Championship competition.

First out for Australia, Chris Chugg and 'Vivant' jumped a super round except for a bit of a misunderstanding at the Farm Entrance vertical after the open water. They are pictured making easy work of the 1.52m square skinny Tobacco over at number 11. Chris is in 57th place of the 120 starters at the beginning of the jumping competition.

Course Designer, Conrad Homfeld from the US looks pleased with his Table C track, described by George Morris as "a fabulous course".

Canada's Yann Candele is pictured aboard Susan Grange's 'Pitareusa' by Andiamo jumping in to the Alltech Double.

Yes it is a familiar face and a lovely one too. 'Ashleigh Drossel Dan's' that is. He is being ridden by Brazilian Team member, Alvaro Miranda and jumped a lovely round despite lowering the Rolex double 13ab which was the bogy combination on the course. So many jumped clear until this very last combination which was five steady strides from a big Liverpool, followed by a short one stride in the vertical/oxer double.

Samantha McIntosh back riding for New Zealand put in a characteristic performance, just lowering the Forest Liverpool at fence 12. riding Horst Jaggle's 'Loxley 38' by Lennon. They sit in 42nd place after the first class, but there is plenty of room to move yet.

The surprise round of the competition, probably because we don't know all the horses here, came from the Hungarian, Sandor Szas riding 'Moosbachhofs Goldwing' , a Hanoverian stallion by Goldfever. They really galloped, which is pretty obvious from this photo and took third place in the Table C in 73.24 seconds.

Belgium's Judy Ann Melchior jumped clear riding her own Cha Cha Z a mare by Cathago Z, but in quite a sloe time, 83.52 for 53rd place.

At just 25 years of age, Matt Williams is already a veteran of one Olympic Games and is now a member of the Australian WEG Jumping Team. The always talented rider now resident in Switzerland,posted a good four penalty round, just lowering the Natural Arch wall at 6, riding Gloria Eschenbach's 'Urleven van de Helle' by Esprite de Conquete.

US Team member, Mario Deslauriers jumped a super slick round in 71.20 seconds riding Jane Clark's Dutch gelding, 'Urico' by Zandor Z to win the Table C class.

The first ever rider for Bermuda, Patrick Nesbett makes a lovely jump aboard his 'Cantaro' by Corrado 1. They just lowered the bogy 13b and came home in a time of 80.92 for 29th place.

Former Swedish Eventing rider, Peder Fredricson rode the Corrado 1 gelding, 'Va et Viens van de Zelm' to just lower 13b, however their slow time puts them down the line.

Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum jumper a characteristic attacking clear round aboard the Contender gelding, 'Checkmate' for seventh place in 74.84 seconds.

Successful Australian international jumping combination, Edwina Alexander and 'Cevo Itot Du Chateau' by Le Tot de Semilly made the course look easy indeed and looked a certain clear until Itot just touched the dreaded 13b. Despite the added four seconds they are in 18th place.

US combination, Laura Kraut and 'Cedric' by Chambertin had and uncharacteristic round for two on the floor to be in 49th place after the first WEG Championship combination.

Successful Saudi Arabian rider, Kahled Al Eid gives thanks after he and 'Presley Boy' a stallion by Concord, jumped their way in to fifth place in the first WEG Championship competition.

UK jumping legend, Michael Whitaker powers his way out of the Alltech double riding 'Gig Amai' a Belgian gelding by Nonstop. However two down has them down the line in 43rd place.

World number one, Kevin Saut from France did not have the best of rounds riding the Corland mare, Silvana de Hus. A time consuming stop and a fence down has them way down the line at 70.

New Zealand Team member, Katie McVean jumped a great round, you can tell, riding the New Zealand Sport Horse mare, 'Delphi' by Leo Carlon (USA) out of a Brilliant Invader mare. They went clear in 77.75 seconds for 17th place.

Sadly Belgium's Jos Lansink did not put in his usual classic performance riding the Nabab de Reve mare, 'Cavalor Valentina Van't Heike' that left three on the ground.

Germany's Marcus Enning is one of the fancied riders to take the title. The world number 2 is pictured riding the Mr Blue stallion, 'Plot Blue'. With one down they are in 28th place.

European based Australian Team member, James Paterson-Robinson certainly looked good , but the Diamant de Semilly stallion, 'Niack de L'Abbaye' left three on the floor. It is early days yet and after the first Individual and Team qualifier, the USA are in the lead followed by Germany and France. Australia is 14th of the 27 Teams.

World number 3, Puis Schwizer riding for Switzerland had two down riding the Carvallo mare, 'Carlina'. They are in 31st place after the first Championship competition.

US Team rider, Mclain Ward lived up to expectations and produced a beautiful round riding the super Darco mare, 'Sapphire'. They took second place in 71.79 seconds.
