Australian Driving Team member, Gavin Robson, originally from Melbourne and now resident in Ohio,  made a great impression in the dressage arena driving Larry and Marily Denny's beautifully  matched team of principally Dutch Harness Horses. At the half way point, Gavin is in seventh place with 53.30 penalties.

Canadian, Darryl Billing heads down the centre line with his team during the first phase of the FEI World Driving Championships. The Driving dressage phase continues tomorrow, with the cross country, known as the Marathon conducted on Saturday and the final cone precision driving phase on Sunday.

Driving Legend, George Bowman from Great Britain gave an exhibition display during the Championship dressage phase. George, well known to Australian Driving  enthusiasts is not competing at the Alltech Kentucky WEG, but over the years he has won everything on offer in the Four In Hand world and is a great ambassador for the sport.

Canadian Para Dressage team Member, Jennifer McKenzie rode the Australian bred, 'Sunbury Lodge Voodoo' in the Individual Grade II test. Voodoo, by Vancouver was purchased from Victorian rider, Jennifer Holmes. They finished in 14th place with 62.095%.

Australian team member , Grace Bowman rode Megan Jones' ex eventer, 'Kirby Park Joy' by KP Nantamboo in the Grade II Individual Para Dressage Championship. They both looked super and produced a lovely test to just miss out on the Bronze medal by .095% with a score of 67.143%.

Going gang busters! Bates New Zealand representative, David Perry-Jones has been rushed off his feet with demand for saddles during the Alltech World Equestrian Games. He commented that he has never been so busy. Bates Saddles are distributed in the USA through Weatherbeeta.

There is one in every group. Thousands of schoolchildren are enjoying all the Alltech World Equestrian Games has to offer and there is plenty. Although Rolex arena seat tickets are expensive, the $25 park entry fee gets you everywhere except the competition venues.

There is plenty of free entertainment to be enjoyed outside the Rolex Arena at  the Kentucky Horse Park. And in our opinion, one of the most entertaining is Australian horseman and poet, Guy McLean. Guy is now based in Texas and travels the world performing.

Australian team Member, Krystle Lander is pictured in action during the Female Individual Vaulting Freestyle.  Krystle rode to "I don't want to show off no more", but it's hard not to be noticed really. They scored a 6.505 for their test.

This looks difficult to do at the best of times, let alone whilst cantering around on a horse! British Team member, Joanne Eccles produced a really impressive display to  Elton John;s "Candle in the Wind" to score 8.224 in the Individual Female Vaulting Freestyle. Joanne is in second place at this point for the Individual title.

To the tune of "American Woman', Mary McCormick produced an 8.05 performance for the USA in the Female Individual Vaulting Freestyle and are currently in fourth place for the Individual title.

This does not look easy. Vaulting is extreme gymnastics on horseback. Alicen Divita completed and entire circle doing the splits. They finished in 12th place.

Eight time US National Champion Four In Hand  Driver, Chester Webber produced  a beautifully controlled test driving his beautiful Team of bay Warmblood horses. The horses were beautifully matched, with the wheelers having quite a high knee action and the leaders easily displaying  the asked for extended trot. One particularly impressive movement during the test is the shoulder in by the two leaders as the wheelers continue in a straight line. After half the field has completed the dressage phase of the Driving Championship, Webber is in equal first place, with Dutch Driver, Isjbrand Chardon on 39.97.
